Not necessarily, but the question is what you are trying to achieve. Do you want to stop the bankruptcy proceeding, or do you want to reaffirm the mortgage to surive the bankruptcy? You'd have to talk to the mortgage company about what they'd be willing to do, as anything action would need their agreement. You should not do so without consulting your bankruptcy lawyer, as any decisions you make in this regard can have very serious conseuqnces. You need to know exactly what you're getting into if you're considering reaffirmation.
