I received a misdemeanor for disorderly conduct and I need to know if I should get a lawyer?

I was out at a sporting event and had a few drinks. I kick an orange traffic cone at a friend just messing around and accidentally hit a women in the leg. She wasn’t mad or anything and I apologized. It was fine except a cop saw it happen and arrested me. Should I just go to court plead guilty? What’s the penalty for a disorderly conduct for a first-time offender? I have no idea what the penalty is.

The potential penalty and the actually penalty are two different things. That charge has potential jail time, but its unlikely that you would receive a jail sentence. To answer your question, yes, you should have a lawyer. Its very possible that this charge could be handled so you do not end up with a record. But you need to discuss it with a lawyer to be sure.
