Does a manager of a retail location that gets paid base salary and commission have any protection for the actual amount of time worked?

For example, having 2 days off in any given month without any compensation for the additional time. What protection does an administrative white collar exempt employee have?

A salaried employee is not entitled to additional pay for working more hours: 40, 60, 80, etc. hours per week is all the same. He does not lose pay if he works fewer hours on a day so long as he works some hours. If he does not work an entire regular workday, he loses one day's salary unless he uses PTO to cover the day.
