What are the penalties for making a fake auto insurance card?
I work for an insurance company and made my boyfriend a fake insurance card after he was pulled over and cited for no proof of insurance. The cop knows it was fake. Besides losing my job what else can happen to me? What are the criminal charges and consequences?

This is a very serious offense. It is fraud and forgery at the very least. Possibly even a form of theft charge could be brought against you. These are charges of "dishonesty" under the law. You did not actually write him a policy so it was not really embezzlement of any kind. But I would seek help from an attorney in your area as soon as you possibly can to discuss your options here. These type of charges can effect everything in your life if you are convicted: employment, obtaining loans, etc. There are certain "elements" of a crime that must be proven by the prosecutor in order be convicted of these crimes. Intent is one element but pecuniary gain is another. You may have some bargaining in this element but only a lawyer who specializes in the area can tell you that. Good luck.
