What could happen if I called the wrong person and asked if they wanted to buy drugs and they contacted the police?

They may not be able to arrest/charge you for that act, but you certainly have awakened a lot of attention. Whether anything comes of it, depends on how busy the drug detectives are, and whether the party you called can identify you.
If the person you contacted is underage, they may pursue charges. Additionally, if the person recognized your voice, you will probably be contacted by the police.
