What to do if our father passed away and I called our local register of Wills to see if his Will has been filed but they don’t have any record of it?

In our state is there a certain time frame to submit a person’s will to the county? Or can they just not file it at all?

I am so sorry for your loss.  You hail from the state of Pennsylvania, correct?  It is my understanding that in the state of Pennsylvania there is no time limit to submit a WIll to probate.  It may be offered at any time although as soon after death as possible is always preferred.  A WIll should always be offered for probate but there are instances where families may not.  I would speak with your family and an attorney.  Good luck.
