If my father has died2 years ago and a insurance company has contacted me about a unclaimed property check, how do I claim it?

I am so sorry for your loss. Did you open an estate for your Father?  And it is probably long closed?  You may have to re-open it to allow whom ever was the executor to collect the funds.  If you did not open ana estate for your dad - no assets - then you can probably do a small estate affidavit to collect the funds.  It really depends on what your state allows and what the insurance company wants.  Good luck.
