In an estate sale of land Can a lawyer hold proceeds of sale of that land in his personal account

I called the attorney handling
the sale of land in an estate
of which i am an heir. I asked
when the disbursement of funds
would happen he told me that
the funds were in his personal
account is this legal. I know
that sale of the land has
happened because the timber is
being cut off the land and he
has even told me the land has
been sold

It is a violation of ethics and professional responsibility for the attorney to hold (co-mingle) the proceeds from the estate sale in his personal account.  Those proceeds must be held in the attorney/client trust account.  You should report this attorney to the State Bar of MS.
