Can the at fault insurer put a limit on car rental?

Accident where I was not at fault. Vehicle at fault was taxi cab and while they do
have insurance the cab company handles the claims process themselves. Their
representative is only allowing or will reimburse 30/day for rental vehicle. There is
no way to rent a vehicle here in Connecticut for 30/day. I feel that I should not be
out any money cause the accident was not my fault. I received prices of 41-
52/day for rental. I’m not asking for anything beyond what I s reasonable. What
can I do?

You can sue the at-fault driver for the full amount of provable, reasonable costs and losses (e.g. rental costs plus car damage), if you are not willing to accept the amount they are offering; that is the only way to get more than is offered. Of course, depending on how much morw money you are looking for, a lawsuit may or may notbe worth.
