Can I still sue for a personal injury if my parents settled the case when I was a minor?
About 4 years ago I was walking across a intersection a truck did not see me and hit me. At that time I was under the age 18 so my parents dealt with everything. I never had back problems before the accident. After the accident I had to go to a chiropractor for a while. I stopped going because my back wouldn’t go out that bad I could always fix it for the time being. Well my parents settled the case. I’m still having back problems today and they have gotten worse. I have no money to get it fixed and I am limited for jobs. I cant work for what I went to school for because of my back.

Unfortunately, since the case was settled, you will not be able to receive additional compensation. When a case is settled, a release of the claim is signed which means you cannot sue again on the same claim and you have given up your claim pursuant to the release in exchange for the settlement (monetary compensation that was received).
