I was arrested Friday for fighting, I was released last night and charged with assault and 3 misdemeanors. What can happen to me?

I was never arrested before or have any offenses.

If i were you, i would spend the money on a lawyer.  You want to make sure this does not result in you having a record if you can avoid it.  If there is no more conflict b.t. you and the person that you fought with, then there is a chance the state wont press further charges.  However, if there are serious injuries involved then there is less likely a chance this will go away quickly.  I would need to know more facts about what happened as you may have good defenses to the charges.  I suggest hiring a lawyer immediately to get involved.  Worst case scenario is that you pay a fine and some medical bills for injuries sustained.  I doubt there will be any jail time here.
