How does one go about starting an online charity/business?

The charity aspect of it would be from donations but the business side of it would be from advertising.

Much more would have to be nown about the business plan.  You would have to organize the business pursuant to state laws and seek tax status as a charitable organization (501 (c) 3).  These things do not come easy and, as a result, you should consult with an attorney.
