Can a bartender for a corporate restaurant be fired because of a comment posted by a customer on social media?

I am a bartender for chilis and had an unhappy customer voice her opinion on social media google and because of her opinion I was fired. I was not asked my side of the story, non of the many positive comments were takin into consideration and Ive worked for the company for almost 12 years and have no write up or disciplinary forms and the only excuse for letting me go was because of social media. Can you be fired because of someone elses opinion on their experience?

The fact is that unless you have protection under the terms of an employment contract or union aggreement, as an "at will" worker you can be fired for any reason or no reason at all, with or without notice.
