Am I entitled to a payout of my PTO upon leaving my job?
I am leaving my job of 3 years and have a decent sum of PTO banked. The company wouldn’t allow me to use it prior to leaving and is denying a payout claiming that our state, MI, doesn’t support a PTO payout I looked into state law and I believe that it does. Is this something I am entitled to in form of payout or does it really just absolve back into the company?

Unless you have an employment contract or union agreement to the contrary, under MI law an employer is not legally required to pay a worker accrued vacation time upon their departure.
