What is an employer responsible for reimbursing for regardingtravel expenses?
My company owns several retails stores throughout New England. We recently had a training at our headquarters and many employees and managers from the various stores submitted travel expenses. What do we have to reimburse the employees for? Are we able to set a limits to how many miles must be traveled before we reimburse?

If an employee uses his own vehicle for company business, the employer is required to reimburse the employee the miles traveled at Internal Revenue Service regulation rate of .49 per mile. Tolls and parkng are also to be reimbursed as well.
If a company car is used, only the actual gasoline paid is to be reimbursed to the employee including parking and tolls.
The employer is not allowed to set any limit on miles traveled by an employee using his or her own car before reimbursement. The employer is to promptly reimburse the employee the expenses incurred when the expense sheet is turned in.
