Is my mother entitled to back child support if my grandmother raised me?
My mom never took care of me; I’ve always stayed with my grandmother every since I was a baby. Now my father is paying back owed child support but she’s getting it/ That’s not right. What can my grandmother and I do about that?

Your mom can fight and successfully argue for back child support. However, you and your grandmother are not without similar options. Your grandmother needs to intervene on her's and your behalf in whatever suit your mother has filed and submit proof that she has been raising you with no support from mom or dad. If she has been receiving some type of support from dad, she needs to note that he has been satisfying his financial obligations. If you are still a minor, she can request full, legal custody of you on the basis that she has raised you all these years. She can also request that the child support obligation be directed to her instead of your mother. The main thing is that she needs to join in. If she does nothing-- the suit could continue without your needs or rights really being asserted.
