Wht will happen if my friends and I tried to steal from a store but the manager walked into the isle?

My friend (who obviously had it the bottle in his pants) quickly took it out and put it back. We walked out calmly and went to my car. The manager came out and tried to get a pic. I dont know if she did. She would have only seen the side of my car. We didnt actually steal anything and now im paranoid I will get arrested. I am 18 and have a clean record.

If an individual attempts to steal an item in a store by concealing the item, even if the individual changes his/her mind and returns the item to the shelf, in Georgia, the crime of "theft by shoplifting" has already been committed.  The mere concealment of an item with the intent to steal is sufficient.  If you believe that there is a good chance that the store employee was able to obtain sufficient identifying information to warrant an arrest, you should consult an attorney. Also, you should contac a bonding compan to ascertain what information they will need for a bond to be posted in the event of an arrest.
