What you should do before the Sheriff comes a knocking is to ask for an extension of time to pay the judgement off so that he or she does not come and seize your non-exempt property to sell and satify the judgement.  Then pay off the judgement and get a satisfaction.  Consider having an attorney be the middle person for payment and receipt of satisfaction.  This way you are covered.  Good luck.
