If I a Sheriff’s deputy informed me that I was served a notice to appear in court later this month, what are the ramifications for me if I do not appear in court?

If you have been served with a subpoena to appear in court for a hearing and you fail to do so, the result is that a bench warrant will be issued for your arrest. When arrested, you will be jailed and then brought to the court to explain why you failed to appear and possibly fined. I suggest that you appear in court.
