How many days in a 30 day period can I visit my boyfriend before being asked by his roommates to pay rent?

I go to school out of town and I visit mostly on the weekends. My boyfriend’s roommates feel that I should pay rent because I’m around too much.

The best way to answer your question is to carefully read your boyfriend's lease with his landlord. There may be a provision within it where a tenant is allowed to have a guest so many times in a 30 day period before the guest is then considered a tenant.

If the lease does not have a provision with respect to what was stated in the above paragraph, then your weekend visits do not make you a tenant. However, you should be mindful of the roommates as to the amount of time you are at the rented apartment.
