Yes, in that unless you have an employment contract which would prevent the employer from doing the following, your employer could do anything up to and including firing you if you refuse to provide copies of your record. Certainly, you could choose to give up your job and not provide these records, but you can't stay at your job if your employer chooses to require this and is willing to fire you for not complying. Employers may make employees do essentially anything not itself illegal as a condition or requirment for employment, and there is nothing illegal about showing someone you cell phone records.
