Can an employer make a server pay for a walk out?

I had a dine and dash tonight and my
manager says its my fault so I have to
pay their bill. Is that legal?

As a general rule, an employer can hold a worker liable for such a loss, although it can only deduct the money from a paycheck if there is a written agreement to do so. Here is a link to an article that will explain further:
