Had an at-fault accident with foreign driver license, will it affect my premium after got U.S. driver license?

If you have an auto accident in the US on a foreign license the information may not automatically transfer to the new US license. However, the insurance company that paid for your accident will report to a national system regarding your accident. If they obtain your US license number it will then connect to the new license and other insurance companies will be able to determine that you do have an accident on your record.If you change insurance companies and do not reveal that you had the accident it is technically fraud. The new insurance company will probably find out about the accident and can either increase your rates or cancel your insurance for not revealing the claim. Then you may find it even harder to find insurance since you lied on an application. It would be best to either stay with your current company or shop around revealing the accident.
