I was paid in error after being terminated from a job. Am I obligated legally to repay and with interest

I received several checks direct deposit after my emlployment

Yes, you are obligated to repay this money. Otherwise you would be unjustly enriched. Think about it, if you were accidentally underpaid, your employer would be liable for making up the short wages.
