If I was injured in a auto accident and am do a settlement but I owe arrears in child support, will I still receive my settlement?

My child support order is in another state.

It is my understanding that there is no statute of limitations for collection on child support arrears.  Also understand that courts consider child support arrears a priority.  Also, your attorney in the lawsuit may have an obligation to notify the chld support unit in the other state of the settlement.  Why worry about the judgement hanging over your head?
