If I was fired from my job while being sick, do I have a case?

I was on disability when my job (local government) dropped me off the health insurance without previous notification whatsoever. After meeting with my supervisor, HR director, my partner an a union representative I was terminated.

In all states in this country a person cannot be terminated from employment soley because of being on unemployment disability or in retaliation for making a claim against the employer or a fellow employee.

However, in your case, you do write that you were on disability from a position with your local government. It seems that you were an employee for a governmental entity when you were terminated.

Unfortunately, due to the economic recession that this country is presently in and has been for many years, many governmental jobs have lost their funding. If this is the situation with your position, you were not terminated because you were on disability. You lost your position due to lack of allocated funds for your governmental position which would not lend itself to an actional claim.

You always have the option to make a claim with your local labor department concerning your termination.
