Are non-competes legal and binding in Texas?

I left my job as sales manager at one radio company at the end
of 2015. I now want to go to work on the air at a different
company in the same market. My no compete was for a year but
my old company never furnished me with a copy of my contract
stating my no compete. What to do?

Yes, non-competition agreements are completely legal and enforceable. They are simply contracts, and like any other contract, you are held to what you agreed to. Furthermore, the fact that you did not get a copy does not affect its validity or enforceability. If you breach it and your former employer tries to take legal action to enforce it, they will have to produceit at that time.
