Can I beat a criminal tresspass/simple tresspass charge from horseback riding on posted land where I was told we had permission to ride?
I was told by my friend who owns the horses that she had permission to be on the posted land. Our picture was taken from a trail cam where the landowner said we damaged his deer food plots. My face was the only one visible so I was the only one charged. She is willing to say that someone gave her permission to ride there, I believe the man that gave her permission was the landowner’s father who was mowing on the property on a previous occasion. I was not ever on this property before. I am unsure whether to fight this or just pay the fine?

If your friend said she had the permission, get it in some form, such a writing or recording, or ask your friend to testify for you. Sounds like you are innocent to believe that you had permission to be on the land. Get an attorney to help you at least to get the fine reduced.
