If you did not have an employment contract--and the vast majority of us do not have employment contracts--you were an employee at will. An employee at will may be fired for any reason not specifically made illegal. Unfortunately, there is no law making it illegal to fire an employee who warns another to not strike him or her, or making it illegal to fire an employee involved in an altercation, whether oral or physical, and whether as the aggressor or victim, with another employee. From what you write, your termination may have been unfair, but it was also most likely legal.
