If my grandma died last year with no Will or other immediate family so I paid for cremation, do I have to do anything else?

I was not an active part of her life for many years, so I am not sure about any assets she may have had. The state did send me 2 copies of her death certificate. Not sure if there was anything else I was suppose to do.

I am so sorry for your loss.  Do you know if she had any other assets?  You may need to delve in to this just a bit.  You are entitled to reimbursement from her estat . e for the funeral expenses.  If there are bank accounts, etc., they should be dealt with as well as any personal assets such as an apartment that should be cleaned out.  Good luck
