Only if there there was an actual contract, signed by you, specifying the penalty you'd suffer if you left early (for example, the repayment of a recruiting fee or signing bonus) would you be liable to them. d on what you write, you could give shorter notice, but of course, that will almost certainly affect the type of recommendation you'd get.
