You can pay the rent--that is the only certain way to avoid eviction for nonpayment. The landlord is entitled to his/her rent; if not paid, he/she may evict a tenant. You could also approach the landlord and, if you are currently having financial difficulties but have the ability to pay some of the rent or pay over time, see if you can't work out a payment plan under which you'd stay in the premises while paying off the arrears. However, such an agreement is voluntary on the landlord's part; the only certain way to avoid eviction is by paying what you owe.
