divorced girlfriend’s adult daughters student loans.

My girlfriend now lives with me in Maine. She was divorced in Massachusetts where the ex resides. The 18 year old adult freshmen attends college Sarah Lawrence in NYC. If I were to marry my girlfriend would I be on the hook for her tuition/loan. If my girlfriend did not work, would they base loan amount on my income?

A stepparent is under no legal obligation to support a stepchild. If, however, you became this student's adoptive parent, that would be different. Your incomeand financial situation would play a factor.

Only if you adopted her should your income be a factor in her loans or student aid: a step parent has no legal obligation to support the other parent's child and so your girlfriend's freshman daughter has no right to any money from you.
