What can I do if when my employer hired me I told him that I wasn’t legally able to work in the U.S.but now he is denying me a promotion and is trying to fire me due to my immigration status?

I’ve been working for him for 4 months. At first he was OK with my status.

It doesn't matter if he was Ok with your status previously--if you are not legally eligible to work in the United States, you may not work here; your employer has to fire you, and, in fact, should never have hired you in the first place. He is obligated to obey the law.
