How do I add another business under my current LLC?

I currently own a dog walking/sitting/grooming business. I would like to add, however separately from the main LLC, training services. I mainly want to be able to keep finances separate from one business to another even though both involve dogs.

Well, the short answer is simply to file a dba under the LLC within your local county of operation. The long answer concerns one of liability exposure in that the two types of services offer different classifications of potential liability. So, as with any business, you will want to keep your liability exposures seperate...and to enlist good insurance coverage for both companies operating as dba under the LLC...along with good management practices. Ideally, you will want two seperate LLCs so that you have "fire walls" between the companies. Be sure to consult with an attorney of your choice.
