Can my employer stop my health insurance with out telling me?

I switched to part time at my company of employment. My employer stopped my benefits before I even started part-time and did not notify me. I am going through chemo treatment for my liver and the lab cannot send me my medication because of this. I found out through the lab that I no longer had benefits. Also, the were still taking money from my pay check to pay for my insurance apparently did have it

Under Federal law, ERISA, your employer is required to place all employees on written notice of his or her intent to terminate health insurance benefits at work so that the employee has an opportunity to seek replacement insutrance. Typically at least sixty (60) days written notice is required for such.

Given what you have written, I suggest that you consult with a labor attorney and/or make a complaint with your local department of labor about the situation you are writing about.
