If I have been complaining for months about electrical issues and pests but all my landlord keeps telling me is that I’m on the waiting list, canI sue?

A new management company has taking over my apartment unit. They fixed up all the vacant apartments and did some renovations. There were 4 apartments with bedbugs. When the new owner took over he stated that they were going to take care of the problem. That was 4 months ago. Right before they took over we had made arrangements with the landlord to get the apartment exterminated. The day the exterminator was suppose to come that landlord got fired because she was trying to charge us and pocket the money for the service. They wont do any repairs for the tenants that were all ready living there.

This is a violation of health codes laws (probably both state and local). You need to immediately have the request/demand in writing and indicate if all of your concerns are not handled by the landlords within 24 hours and at the landlord's cost, then you will need to a) force self-repair and deduct those costs from rent owed as you are allowed to do and b) file a complaint against the landlords/report the landlords to the state or local consumer protection bureau, especially the unit that handles slumlord criminal prosecution (which many states and cities and counties now have).
