Ohio Secretary Husted Backs Down - Issues New Directive
Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted backed down today and rescinded an earlier directive indicating that he would not comply with a federal court order requiring reinstatement of early voting for the upcoming November election.
In the new directive, issued today, Husted simply states that his previous directive is rescinded. Husted was called to appear personally before Judge Economus next Thursday following his earlier directive. The new directive will be submitted to the federal court, presumably avoiding a showdown next week.
