I have been targeted by another employee via their friends for bad customer service. I am the asst mgr at a retail store. I have had to talk to this employee about the lack of performance in doing the job. as soon as I talked to the employee the false customer service claims stared coming in. I have been written up for them and have been told by my district leader they are false claims, but the write ups have not been removed from my record. I am on a finalmeaning anything else that happens will result in me being fired. What should I do?

As far as your employer is concerned, there probably isn't much that you can do. The fact is that most employment is "at will". This means that a company can set the conditions of work much as it sees fit. This includes who, when and why to terminate an employee. In fact, a worker can be fired for any reason or no reason at all. Therefore, unless your treatment violates the terms of a union agreement or employment contract, or constitutes some form of legally actionable discrimination, you have no recourse against your employer. That having been said, if you have proof of what this other co-worker has and is continuing to do, you my have a personal injury claim against them.
