Who pays for trimming a tree that extends into a neighbor’s yard?
There is a tree on my property which sits next to a fence. Some of the branches of this tree extend over the fence onto my neighbor’s property. The branches are not near the dwelling and are not causing any damage to his property just leaves etc. He wants to have the tree trimmed on his side to the property line but he wants me to pay for it. Am I under any legal obligation to do so?

State law may differ but generally speaking, if your neighbor wants to trim the branches that hang over the property line in to his yard then he has to pay for it. Now, he can only trim to the line and he can not do anything that might harm the tree. You may want to be a good neighbor and offer to pay some so that you can insure some one does it right.
