Where do I file for divorce?

My husband is in the army. We have been separated for 10 months. He has yet to return my possessions and those of our child. He is stationed in one state and I live in another.

Well, the Soldiers and Sailors Relief Act may actually prevent and prohibit you from filing the divorce in civil court.  If he is active duty and stationed elswhere, there are a whole host of criteria you need to meet.  Please contact a military law divorce attorney to help you prepare this matter -- you should not do it alone because there are both state and federal laws to consider.

Try Minnesota State Bar, County Bars for such speciality, also try www.attorneypages.com.

Hope this helps.
