What should I do if I lost a baby due to preterm labor if I was seen and examinated by a doctor eailier in the day?

I had a scheduled doctors appointment at 9:30 a.m. with a family medicine resident physician. I was told by him 2 weeks before to come back to see him for a follow-up check-up as I was in my fifth month of pregnancy. During the second check-up I complained of cramping and some bleeding. He went on to do a pelvic exam and assured me that everything was fine and that he saw the discharge I was referring to. He the told me to come back and see him in 3 weeks. That night at 7:45 p.m. my water broke and I was rushed to the local hospital where I was told that I was in preterm labor.
