You would need to first initiate the legal proceeding--i.e. bring an action for divorce. Once there is a legal proceeding ongoing, there are legal mechanisms, called "discovery," with which you could attempt to obtain these messages. Sinice you are clearly contemplating divorce as an option--else why would you need these messages?--you should discuss the situation with a family law attorney.
