What is the duty of an executor?

There are several children, 4 being co-executors. Most children want to sell the family property at a reduced price to a family member but 1 executor wants the most money for the property. Do the heirs who are not executors have any voice in the final decision? The final wishes were verbally expressed to many family members for the property to stay in the hands of a family member but it is not included in the final Will.

I am so sorry for your loss and for the problems that have resulted.  You need to check with the attorney helping with the probate as to certain procedural issues.  The most important being if all the signatures are required for the sale or transfer of ownership of an estate asset.  If the answer is yes then the executor that does not wish to sell can block the sale to the other sibling. The executors have the final power and say so.  You are going to need help resolving the matter in a different way.  Good luck.
