Whatare the chances thata father could get shared custody?
Well I’m trying to get shared custody of my son since I haven’t seen him since he was born. On top of that Ifound out that I’m not under his birth certificate.

There are two types of custody; physical custody which means the parent with whom the child lives and legal custody which means making decisions about the child's education, health care, etc.
The court considers the best interests of the child in determining custody. It is not possible to predict the outcome of a particular case. Physical custody would probably remain with the mother because the child is accustomed to living with his mother. It is possible that you may be awarded joint legal custody with regard to making decisions about the child's future education, health care, etc. Custody is separate from visitation. You have a right to visitation and if you and your ex cannot agree on a visitation schedule, the court can establish a visitation schedule.
