What can we do ?

We work in city hospital lab, our manager changed our work week to 7 days/week without asking us. Now we have to work Saturday, Sunday and national holidays like regular week days.

Unless this action violates the terms of an employment contract or union agreement, it is legal. The fact is that most employment is "at will" which means that a company can set the conditions of work must as it sees fit (absent some form of legally actionable discrimination). Further, there is no limit on most employees as to how many hours/days in arow that they can be made to work. However, if the are "non exempt" (i.e. tyically those who are paid hourly), then they must be paid overtime for all hours worked over 40 in their workweek
