If a judgment is awarded against you, it means a court has determined that you have to pay someone else money. If you fail to pay, various forms of collections activity can be taken against you, such as garnishing your wages (having part of your paycheck sent to the person who received the judgment against you); levying on a bank or brokerage account (taking money from the account); executing on personal property (seizing and selling a car, electronics, etc.); or putting a lien on real estate.
