What can a resort do if you don’t pay your yearly dues?

What can a resort do when you only have a membership contract that you have had for years and have told them you didn’t want it anymore and were not going to use it. We have ask them to sell our membership and they won’t and are planning on taking it to court if we don’t pay. We had also filed bankruptcy about 5 years ago.

Did you list this obligation in the bankruptcy and was the resort notified?  Then the obligation may have been dischared unless you ratified it in some way by continuing to pay.  If the membership agreement is a contract under your laws there then they can sue you based upon the terms.  I would take it to an attorney to review.  Good luck.
