What are the laws pertaining to an employer/supervisor telling other employees and customers that you have failed your drug test?

The supervisor is going around telling other employees and customers that the drug test was failed and I wil not be with the company this season. In reality it was not failed and I am still currently working for the employer. The supervisor is slandering my name and I was wondering what I can do about it?

You can sue the supervisor for defamation.  Defamation is a false statement made with knowledge of its falsity communicated to a third person who recognizes the defamatory content, and the statement is injurious to your reputation.

Slander is spoken defamation.  Libel is written defamation.

Each repetition of the defamatory statement is actionable in a lawsuit for defamation.

Since the slanderous statement is incompatible with your job or profession, you can sue for general damages.  General damages would include compensation for mental distress, loss of friends and aasociates, and if applicable, physical illness and medical expenses.
