I was just served with a wage garnishment order. I filed the head of household exemption and it’s already a time barred debt. How can the attorneys do this and is it legal?

From what you have written about if the case against you was dismissed by the court there could not have been a judgment resulting against you resulting in a wage garnishment. Given the uncertainty that you have written about, I suggest that you consult with a consumer law attorney to assist you in the matter that you have written about.
